Saurimo ring road

President João Lourenço inaugurated the new Saurimo/EN230 ring road, a landmark project that marks a significant leap forward in the modernization of the road network in Lunda Sul province.

Name of the Work: Saurimo ring road

Location: Saurimo, Lunda Sul

Description of what it is and what it aims to achieve: This project covers a length of 39 km and represents an investment of 42.15 billion kwanzas. The main aim of the ring road is to create alternative routes that avoid the urban crossing of heavy traffic and other traffic whose destination is not the city of Saurimo.

Started in 2020, the contract involved widening the road to 11 meters wide, with two lanes, public lighting and modern drainage systems. During the work, 3,000 direct and indirect jobs were created, boosting the local economy and strengthening the construction sector.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by various authorities, including the Minister of Public Works, Carlos Alberto dos Santos, and the Governor of Lunda Sul, Daniel Félix Neto. Edmar Manuel, spokesman for the company responsible for the work, pointed out that the infrastructure was designed according to “modern technical standards”, ensuring durability and greater efficiency in the movement of goods, which will strengthen business competitiveness in the region.

Cost of the Work: 42.15 billion kwanzas.
