New Refitec Factory

Refitec, the Naval Group’s cooking oil factory, will be inaugurated this Wednesday in the Boavista area of Luanda.

Refitec represents a significant step forward for the country’s industrialization, guaranteeing greater independence in the production of refined oils and essential by-products for various industries.

Location of Work: Boavista area, Luanda

Description of what it is and what it aims to achieve: Refitec, the Naval Group’s vegetable oil refinery, will be inaugurated in Luanda, in the Boavista area, consolidating its position as one of the group’s largest industrial investments in Angola.

With capacity to process 500 tons of soybean, palm and other vegetable oils a day, the plant aims to strengthen national production, reduce dependence on imports and promote food security. The bottling line will enable the production of up to 1 million liters of refined oil per day, in 1-liter PET bottles and 20-liter jericans, manufactured in-house.

Refitec will generate 850 direct jobs and around 1,500 indirect jobs, strengthening the socio-economic impact and encouraging local agriculture. The factory covers an area of 9 hectares and includes modern facilities such as warehouses, a quality laboratory and a logistics center. In the environmental field, it adopts sustainable practices such as effluent treatment, emissions control and waste reuse. This project reaffirms the Naval Group’s commitment to industrialization, food self-sufficiency and sustainable development in Angola.

Cost of the Work: More than 85 million dollars

Financing: Grupo Naval – Responsible for 80% of the investment, with its own capital. Standard Bank – Financed 20% of the project through structured financing.
