Porto do Caio Maritime Terminal
This deep-water terminal is essential and of capital importance for the socio-economic development of the region and promises to transform Cabinda’s commercial dynamics.
TECHNICAL INFORMATION:
Name of the work: Terminal Marítimo Porto do Caio
Location of the work: Caio, about 18 km from Cabinda
Description of what it is and what it aims to achieve: The Port of Caio, located 2 km from the coast, will have the capacity to simultaneously receive two long-haul ships, each carrying up to 5,000 20-foot containers.
The terminal will have a free trade zone to attract investors and boost the local economy. Currently, 1,200 workers are working on the construction in continuous shifts, ensuring completion on time.
The first phase of the project is expected to generate around 1,600 direct jobs, benefiting the local population.
Scheduled to begin operations in December 2025, this terminal promises to be an engine for the economic development of Cabinda province.
Cost of the work: estimated at 800 million dollars
