Construction of the Luau Photovoltaic Power Plant, in Moxico province, is progressing apace and is already 55% complete.

Name of Work: Luau Photovoltaic Plant
Location of Work: Moxico-Leste, Luau
Description of what it is and what it aims to achieve: The infrastructure, which will have an installed capacity of 32 megawatts and a battery bank of 79.77 megawatts per hour, will be fundamental to reducing the energy deficit in the region.
According to the Secretary of State for Energy, Arlindo Carlos, work is on schedule and the project is expected to be completed by the end of 2025. However, the final delivery of the project should only take place in 2026, as the construction of the low and medium voltage distribution networks will take place between June 2025 and April 2026.
This work will directly benefit more than 100,000 inhabitants, providing a more stable energy supply and enabling the electrification of more than 20,000 homes. The initiative reinforces the government’s commitment to boosting sustainability and improving the quality of life of local populations through the use of renewable energies.
Cost of the Work: Approximately 1,027,587,914 euros.
