Higher Polytechnic Institute of Bié
On January 22, construction began on the Instituto Superior Politécnico do Bié (ISPB), in the city of Cuito, Bié province, an initiative that promises to transform higher education in the region.

Description of what it is and what it aims to achieve: The ISPB will be a modern infrastructure with the capacity to accommodate up to 5,000 students and have 300 teaching staff and employees. The institution will offer nine undergraduate and three postgraduate courses, with advanced laboratories, practical areas, dormitories for 500 students and residences for 25 teachers. The project aims to provide an ideal environment for teaching, learning and research, as well as contributing to the qualification of young people, economic diversification and reducing the country’s dependence on oil.
With a construction area of 24,255 m², the deadline for completion is 30 months.
The province of Bié already has five higher education institutions and 14,930 students enrolled in 2023-2024, but the arrival of the ISPB represents a significant step forward for the region, consolidating its position as a training center of excellence in the country.
