CUNENE GENERAL HOSPITAL
On August 2, the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, inaugurated the Cunene General Hospital, also known as General Simione Mucune. This project lasted around three years and was built from scratch on an area of 60,000 square meters.

Description of what it is and what it aims to achieve: This new hospital aims to provide differentiated medical treatment to the populations of southern Angola and neighboring countries, significantly reducing evacuations to central health units or abroad.
With the new hospital, the province will have special services in the areas of hemodialysis, psychiatry, endoscopy, biology, pediatrics, obstetrics, ophthalmology, stomatology and minor surgery, among others.
It has capacity for 200 beds, 26 blocks, 4 inpatient units, the same number of operating theaters, hemodialysis rooms with 12 chairs, a blood bank, psychiatric inpatient units and 8 residences for doctors.
With a staff of 1,135 professionals, the hospital will not only offer quality health services, but will also serve as a technical and academic training center for the specialization of human resources.
