Cabinda Refinery
The construction of this refinery, a partnership between Gemcorp (90 %) and Sonangol (10 %), aims to take advantage of the region’s mineral resources, while at the same time boosting the local economy with the creation of approximately 2,000 direct and indirect jobs for the community.

Name of work: Cabinda Refinery
Location: Malembo Plain, 30 kilometres north of the capital Cabinda
Descrição do que é e do que se pretende atingir: The Cabinda refinery will contribute to the export of oil derivatives, preferably refined products, rather than crude oil. It will cover a total area of 313 hectares. Once the entire project is completed, refining capacity will be close to 60,000 barrels per day.
Cost of the project: 400 million dollars (1st phase). 700 million dollars (total)
Contractor: Gemcorp – Odebrecht Engineering and Construction. Its inauguration is scheduled for the end of 2024.
