Rehabilitation of the stretch of road between Catete and Maria Teresa

Rehabilitation work on the 53-kilometer stretch of road between Catete and Maria Teresa began in October 2023. At the time, it was expected to last approximately 18 months.

Description of what it is and what it aims to achieve: This road, located to the northeast of the Angolan capital, plays a crucial role in connecting rural and urban areas, facilitating the movement of people and goods.

The work, which includes upgrading the road and improving safety and drainage conditions, aims above all to boost mobility, promote regional integration and strengthen the flow of local agricultural production. With a strong presence of farming activities on the outskirts of Maria Teresa, the road represents a strategic route for boosting local economies and improving access to markets.

In addition, the rehabilitation of the stretch of road will contribute to increasing the quality of life of the population, shortening distances and facilitating access to essential services such as health, education and commerce.
