REHABILITATION WORK ON THE CUNJE-CATABOLACA-MACUPA MOTORWAY

The Angolan government is going to invest more than 68 billion kwanzas in this project, work on which will begin in two weeks and which should take 18 to 24 months to complete. The project is of great strategic importance for the country’s South/East Corridor and links the provinces of Bié and Moxico with the Republic of Zambia.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION:

Name of Work: Rehabilitation work on the Cunje-Catabolaca-Macupa road section

Location of Work: EN250 linking the commune of Cunje, in Cuito, to the municipalities of Catabola, Camacupa and Cuemba – Bié province.

Description of what it is and what it aims to achieve: The rehabilitation of this major road infrastructure, the EN250, is 71.80 km long, and will allow the central province of the country to be connected by road to the Lobito Corridor, linking the provinces of Benguela, Huambo and Moxico, promoting agricultural activity through the flow of production.

This project is expected to reach the Republic of Zambia and will directly generate a total of 630 jobs, most of which will be filled by local youth.
