Name of the Work: National Road 290 – Moçâmedes/Virei

Location of the Work: Namibe Province

Description of what it is and what it aims to achieve: The project to build this section is one of the priorities of the General State Budget for 2024.

Its main objective is to provide comfort for motorists and residents, especially economic operators linked to the geology and mineral resources, agriculture and livestock sectors.

It will also help to develop the economy of Namibe province, in particular by improving the process of transporting various products without using the Serra da Leba road.

The work includes two 3.5 metre wide carriageways, a 100 metre verge on each side, a 22 cm recycled sub-base, a 5 cm thick wearing course, among other elements. his project will cover 108 kilometres of road.

The rehabilitation of this national road is scheduled for completion in October 2026.

Cost of the Work: more than 60 billion kwanzas.
